1946

Marcelino Curell Suñol, Ph. D. in Industrial Engineering and professor at the School of Engineering in Barcelona, founded the firm Dr. Ing. M. Curell Suñol, with the aim of advising in the field of technology and the management of Intellectual Property rights.

1959

The firm, focused since its origins on Patents, Trademarks, Models and Designs, is recognized as an official Intellectual Property Agency. It grows and moves to larger offices in Passeig de Gràcia, the heart and business district of Barcelona.

1965

Dr. Ing. M. Curell Suñol expands and opens an office in Madrid for direct contacts and management of Intellectual Property files before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, which at that time was called the Industrial Property Registry.

1977

The firm becomes a limited company formed by three partners, under the name Dr. Ing. M. Curell Suñol I.I. S.L. The European Patent arrives, and the firm incorporates new specialized professionals with the new title of European Patent Attorney, among them the industrial engineer Jordi Curell Sunyol.

1987-89

The company is enlarged with three new partners, all qualified Intellectual Property attorneys: Mireia Curell, Marcel·lí Curell and Oscar Pírez. The firm's generational handover begins.

1996

The Community Trademark arrives and a new office is open in Alicante for the direct contact and management of applications, oppositions and appeals with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, OHIM, the acronym of the office which at present is known as EUIPO.

2008

The firm becomes a professional limited partnership of Intellectual Property attorneys and changes its name to CURELL SUÑOL S.L.P. The engineer, Intellectual Property attorney and European Patent Attorney, Santiago Jordá Petersen becomes a new partner.

2013

Robert Roser and Nèstor Corominas, engineers, Intellectual Property attorneys and European Patent attorneys, become partners of the firm. A new generational change is underway.

2022

The main office in Barcelona moves to Muntaner 240, on the corner of Diagonal avenue. The lawyer and Intellectual Property attorney, María Ceballos, becomes a partner of the firm. She is the Head of the Madrid office.

CURELL SUÑOL, with headquarters in Barcelona and management offices in Madrid and Alicante, is a professional limited partnership of Intellectual Property attorneys and lawyers, with seven professional partners: Santiago Jordá, Robert Roser, Nèstor Corominas, María Ceballos, Isabela Robledo, Mercè Hernández and Emil Edissonov. In 2024 Mireia Curell became President of Honour of the company. The firm has a large multidisciplinary team of specialized professionals: industrial engineers, telecommunications engineers, biotechnologists, lawyers specializing in Intellectual Property, graduates in linguistics and science, translators, IT specialists, as well as highly qualified paralegals and administrative staff.
