He joined CURELL SUÑOL in 1989. At present he is the Head of the Distinctive Signs Department. His functions consist of assessing in matters related to distinctive signs, copyright, designs and domain names; availability and clearing searches; registration, management and defence of Spanish trademarks, International trademarks and European Union trademarks; out-of-court complaints for trademark, designs and copyright infringement, mediation and dispute resolution proceedings. He is also the responsible of the Human Resources Department.
Before joining the firm he worked in private practice as a psychologist and worked in the publishing field coordinating collective works on subjects related to psychology, sociology, ethics and communication.
He holds a BA in Philosophy and Education Sciences – University of Barcelona (UB) and specialised in psychology (1980); he studied sociology in the Sociology School of Barcelona (Diputació de Barcelona); he holds a Diploma on Intellectual Property Management from WIPO. He is a Sworn Translator-Interpreter appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Languages: Italian, Spanish and Catalan).
He is a professional entitled to act before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
He teaches in training and continuing education courses on Intellectual Property organised by Barcelona Activa.
He speaks Catalan, Spanish, Italian, French and English.
