23 Jul Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy: The New ACAPT Tool from the EUIPO
It cannot be denied that nowadays counterfeiting and piracy pose a threat to multiple industry sectors and business of all ranks are affected by them.
According to the EUIPO “the volume of international trade in counterfeit and pirated products amounted up to 2.5 % of global trade in 2019, and imports of such products accounted for up to 5.8 % of EU imports that year, or around EUR 119 billion.”
But which solutions are there against this reality? Where can -trustworthy- information be found on anticounterfeiting and antipiracy solutions?
We now have the answer to these questions: The EUIPO’s web-based tool called “the Anti-Counterfeiting and Anti-Piracy Technology Toolkit (ACAPT)” will help us-to a certain extent- solve all these problems.
The ACAPT guide is aimed at businesses of all sizes which might want to learn more about taking action to safeguard their products and services. It provides search functions for a comprehensive overview of solutions currently available on the market and lays the foundation for users to develop a comprehensive anti-counterfeiting strategy based on their business needs and requirements.
