14 Jan Uzbekistan joins the Geneva Act of the Hague System
On 10 October 2024, Uzbekistan deposited its instrument of accession to the 1999 Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement concerning the international registration of industrial designs. This accession entered into force on 10 January 2025.
As of that date, Uzbek designers and companies can protect their industrial designs in multiple countries through a single international application and payment of a single set of fees. Similarly, design owners from other member countries can designate Uzbekistan in their international applications to obtain protection in their territory.
The addition of Uzbekistan brings the total number of members of the 1999 Geneva Act to 75.
